 Invitation and Call for Abstracts

The Canadian Institute of Food Science and Technology (CIFST) and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) will hold their biennial joint conference from May 31 - June 1, 2010 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. All those with an interest in food science and technology are cordially invited to attend, in particular food science professionals from the academic, industrial and private sectors. We especially encourage the participation of students in the field of food science and technology.   

The 2010 conference will be take place at the Fairmont Winnipeg Hotel, in Winnipeg from Sunday to Tuesday (May 30-June 1), and will be followed immediately by the AAFC Food Network Meeting.

Details of plenary, technical and special sessions are available on the CIFST website . Check this site often as program details develop.

The theme of the 2010 conference is "Safe and Healthy Food: Harvesting the Science." Therefore world-class plenary and invited speakers will discuss opportunities and challenges facing the food industry to address the concerns related to food production and marketing.  

The main technical program will include submitted presentations in 10 major topic areas. These topics will each be presented in an oral and poster session.

Please submit your abstract no later than March 14, 2010 using the Sample Abstract and the online Abstract Submission Form.  

Abstracts will be reviewed by the organizing committee and may be submitted in English or French. For more information on the technical program, please contact:

La conférence bisannuelle organisée par l'Institut Canadien de Science et Technologie Alimentaires (ICSTA) et Agriculture et Agro-alimentaire Canada (AAC) aura lieu du 30 mai au 1 juin 2010 à Winnipeg, Manitoba. Quiconque ayant un intérêt en science et technologies des aliments est invité à participer à la conférence ICSTA/AAC - 2010. Les professionnels des universités, des instituts de recherche et des laboratoires privés, les étudiants, les professionnels de l'industrie, et les scientifiques des ministères fédéraux et provinciaux trouveront un certain nombre d'éléments intéressants au programme.



La rencontre de cette année sera tenue à Fairmont Winnipeg au centre-ville de Winnipeg du dimanche 30 mai au mardi 1 juin 2010, et sera suivi de la réunion du Réseau de recherche sur les aliments d'AAC.

Le thème de cette conférence 2010 est « Aliments sains at salubres : Récolter les fruits de la science». Des conférenciers invités de renommé mondiale discuteront des occasions et des défis auxquels le secteur alimentaire doit faire face à mesure que la protection de l'environnement s'accroît. 



Le programme technique principal comprendra les exposés soumis, groupés en dix sujets majeurs. Ces dix sujets seront chacun adressés lors d'une session d'exposés oraux ou une session de communications affichées.

Veuillez S.V.P. nous soumettre votre résumé avant le 14 mars 2010 à Abstract Submission Form   et l'example de soumission de résumés . Il est important de noter que les résumés peuvent être soumis soit en anglais ou en français et seront révisés par un comité.
